News December 09/January ‘10 FRONT PAGE Storm Seymour’s Modern Day Version Of “It’s A Wonderful Life” If you haven’t heard from Iowan Storm Seymour in quite awhile, it is with good reason. N0, he hasn’t flown off into the wild blue yonder in search of stardom, or to accept more awards (he’s received numerous ones over the years)! Actually the man who has spent much of his time traveling the country, recording in Nash-ville, having his songs charted in the U.S. and overseas, is busier now than he has been over the years pursuing his career in music. He and his wife Cheryl are extremely busy raising their six children (although, even with their hectic schedules, Storm still manages to squeeze in time for performing)! In June, 2009, Storm was able to tour and still be home with his family. In August the entire family performed sever-al shows in Winter Park, Colorado and made the trip into a working vacation. Then, throughout the months of October and November, Storm stayed busy performing on a regular basis and plans on taking the rest of the year off to enjoy the holidays with his family. Last year Barbara Hays-Ackley, publisher of the Midwest Country News, had asked Storm if he ever sang at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown (a front page story in November, 2008, featured Country trivia columnist Dan Reed who resides at the home). Ironically, just this November, on the 14th to be exact, Storm and his family - - including his father and mother Frank and Pat Seymour, his brothers Curtis and Dwayne Seymour, two nephews, Joshua Grimes and Jonah Seymour, performed at the Iowa Veterans Home before an appreciative audience; they sang several patriotic and gospels songs in honor of Veterans Day. Recently Storm, his wife Cheryl, along with their children, were ask-ed to be the guest speakers at the Youth & Shelter Services in con-junction with Iowa Kids Net in Ames, celebrating National Adoption Month. In honor of the special occasion, Storm had written a song entitled A Happy Family to which the Seymour children sang for the YSS Foundation Board of Trustees, dignitaries and staff members. The Seymour family was also featured in the November 22nd Sunday edition of the Ames Tribune. In between performing engagements, re-cording sessions, TV, radio and press inter-views, school events, his daughters’ cheerleading, the boys bowling, the Girl Scouts and many activities too numerous to mention, Storm man-ages to make a successful balance of his music career and family life. According to Storm, “I thank God everyday for all of the blessings that He has bestowed upon our family - - and this truly is A WONDERFUL LIFE!”
